Tom Brady returning to the field in upcoming flag football tournament

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Tom Brady is making his return to the football field soon, just maybe not in the way that you're used to.

The former New England Patriots quarterback, current Las Vegas Raiders part-owner, and future Pro Football Hall of Famer will be playing with other NFL superstars in the upcoming Fanatics Flag Football Classic.

The tournament will take place at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of Riyadh Season, an annual event in the country's capital that includes a series of entertainment, cultural and sporting events.

“I couldn’t be more excited to return to the field, get the competitive juices flowing alongside some of the game’s brightest stars and iconic legends, and bring a truly unique global sports event to fans everywhere during Riyadh Season," Brady said in a news release. "I have always admired the power of flag football and how it connects fans of all ages, and it’s awesome to be able to showcase the sport on such a global stage while joining together so many incredibly skilled athletes."

There will be three teams participating in the tournament, coached by Pete Carroll, Sean Payton and Kyle Shanahan.

Other players will include Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, Maxx Crosby, Rob Gronkowski, Sauce Gardner and Myles Garrett.

Flag football has been growing in popularity in recent years and will be included in the 2028 Summer Olympics as an optional event.

The Fanatics Flag Football Classic will take place on March 21, 2026. Details such as team rosters haven't been announced.
