Update: Parking issue resolved for Yukon business with help of KFOR

YUKON, Okla. (KFOR) – Less than 24 hours after BetterWay Adult Day Center reached out to News 4, a parking problem they have been dealing with for nearly two years was resolved.

The center, located off Cornwell Drive in Yukon, said that delivery drivers had been blocking access to its designated parking spaces and handicap ramp several times per week.

Will Daugherty, owner of the center, reached out to News 4 after his complaints to the store next door and the property management company went ignored.

Now a fresh coat of red paint covers the curbs in the parking lot in front of the center. It was a change Daugherty was thrilled to see after KFOR’s story aired.

"We came in the next morning at 7 a.m. and there were already fire lanes out here with no parking signs,” said Daugherty. “So that's been completely different."

Daugherty said the “no parking” signs have been working.

"We haven't had any trucks blocking the parking spots or in front of our business at all since," said Daugherty. News 4 reached out to the property manager the day the original story aired. They promised to address BetterWay’s concerns and said they would mark areas for no parking and talk to businesses close by about different drop-off locations. The management  company delivered on its promise.

"They took it very seriously. It was clear that they felt like it was urgent, and they resolved it very quickly and seriously,” said Daugherty. “"So many of our clients have come in and thanked us and just expressed their gratitude for doing this. It's been completely easier for them to get in and out and not have to worry about it."
