Suspect dead, one person injured after Midwest City police pursuit
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) — A police pursuit in Midwest City on Monday night ended in a crash, with the suspect dead and one person injured.
According to the Midwest City Police, just before 9 p.m. on Monday, officers were on the scene of a serious accident on SE 15th between Century Boulevard and Douglas Boulevard.
Both the east and westbound lanes were blocked at the time of the accident.
Officers were informed just before 8:40 p.m. Monday that a vehicle was stolen from a woman in Harrah after she had been assaulted with a pipe.
Officials say that officers then located the vehicle on S Sooner Road and attempted to stop the vehicle before the driver took off and led police on a pursuit.
An officer performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), causing the suspect to strike another driver. The pursuit ended near the 8500 block of SE 15th Street.
According to authorities, the suspect was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that was struck during the pursuit only suffered minor injuries.
The suspect has not been identified at this time, as this is an ongoing investigation.
