Supsect in SW OKC homicide still on the run
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - A suspect is still on the run Sunday evening after one person was found shot and killed in a Southwest Oklahoma City home on Saturday morning.
"Officers responded to the 2400 block of Southwest 23rd regarding a shooting," said MSGT. Rob Robertson, with the Oklahoma City Police. "Officers got here, and they discovered an adult male had been shot and was deceased inside the residence."
Police say the suspect ran from the scene.
A business near SW 23rd captured this person running from the scene on their security cameras.
"The suspect is not in custody, but it is not believed that there's any danger to the public," said MSGT. Robertson.
Police say they believe this is an isolated event, but one neighbor says this house is no stranger to a police presence.
"It's been a known, you know, drug house," said Leisa Perkey, a neighbor. "I've been here 30 years. There's been a lot of traffic, a lot of cops, just a lot of things that've happened over the last 30 years."
Perkey and another neighbor told News 4 just last month, this same house was crawling with police.
"Behind their property on the fence line, there was a female recovered there," said Perkey.
"Behind that house there, they found a dead body, a girl," said Lula Wilson, a neighbor.
Those two events are stirring up mixed emotions for both neighbors who live just feet away.
"I'm not unsafe or nothing, because I've been here 30-some years, but this has been going on and on and on and on, and cops have been out here," said Perkey.
"I don't like it at all," said Wilson. "I don't feel safe now, especially knowing where that happened. I've heard some pretty bad things about them people."
Police have not arrested anyone in connection with this shooting.
They do believe this was an isolated event and that the shooter is not a danger to the public.
