5-year-old Carencro kindergartner goes viral, nicknamed 'Fastest Kid Alive'
"It feels great," Xavier said.
CARENCRO, La. (KLFY)-- A Carencro kindergartner is going viral after showing off his after-school routine, getting cheers from his peers and people around the world.
Five-year-old Xavier Booker became a nationwide sensation for his quick sprinting skills, even calling himself the "Fastest Kid Alive."
Everyday, Xavier gives his bus driver a thumbs up and races to make his way home. The bus driver created the game as way for Xavier to make it home as fast as he could. His peers on the bus cheer him on. The video went viral on TikTok, and currently has six million views and counting. Chad Desormeaux, Xavier's bus driver, said it feels refreshing to post a positive video in the world we are in today.
"The more positive responses I got the more excited it got and the more I wanted to share it and push the video as far as we can," Desormeaux said. "This is a once in a lifetime kind of thing. Xavier will have this for the rest of his life to look back."
Xavier and his family, as well as Desormeaux, received a lot of recognition from talk shows and networks, such as ABC, CBS, ESPN, Good Morning America and the Talk. They were even invited to Disney World and Star Athletics where they were able to meet celebrity track stars like Sha'Carri Richardson. Xavier said it feels amazing to be called the fasted kid.
"It feels great," Xavier said.
"I'm just blessed to have this opportunity," Tiffany Saine, Xavier's mother, said. "A lot of people have been reaching out to us. We have only been down here two years."
Xavier attends Carencro Bob Lilly Elementary School, and his principal said he's determined and makes a great impact wherever he goes and with whoever he encounters.
"It's very important to show a kid like Xavier to be the fastest kid, and he is so ambitious," Alyssa Messa, Xavier's principal, said. "He is the most precious kid you'll meet and once you meet him, you'll never forget him."
