Buckwheat Zydeco Junior & The Ils Sont Partis Band get second Grammy nomination
Buckwheat Zydeco Junior, also known as Sir Regg, Buckwheat Zydeco, his father, and the band won a Grammy back in 2014 for their album "Lay Your Burden Down".
(KLFY)-- News 10 is spotlighting Buckwheat Zydeco Junior & The Ils Sont Partis Band. They're nominated this year for a Grammy in the Regional Roots category.
Buckwheat Zydeco Junior, also known as Sir Regg, Buckwheat Zydeco, his father, and the band won a Grammy back in 2014 for their album "Lay Your Burden Down".
The iconic Ils Sont Partis Band, is now hoping to go two for two at the Grammys with Buckwheat Zydeco Junior's newest album "New Beginnings", the first album Sir Regg has released since his father's passing in 2016.
The other local bands nominated in the Regional Roots category are Dwayne Dopsie and the Lost Bayou Ramblers.
Lafayette's very own Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Lauren Daigle is nominated in categories this year.
