Love for her city and a passion to make it better are the driving forces behind Ci Ci Savoy who decided to leave her successful career to begin a new chapter working for St. Landry Parish.

ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Love for her city and a passion to make it better are the driving forces behind Ci Ci Savoy who decided to leave her successful career to begin a new chapter working for St. Landry Parish.

"All the juices are flowing. I don't sleep at night because I'm thinking about what's next, what can we do? How can we do this? I've already reached out to a few people, and so from there we just want to pivot forward," Savoy explained.

Born and raised in St. Landy Parish, Savoy dedicated over 25 years of her life to building a successful career in management living in Baton Rouge to provide for her family.

However, with all of her success, Savoy says something was missing.

"For years I've been in Baton Rouge helping with that community, and it's just didn't sit well with me that I had so much going on here. And I'm helping another city become better when I could be here," said Savoy.

With her desire to make a difference, Savoy started volunteering at different events and caught the attention of Parish President Jessie Bellard, helping organize events such as the freeze shelter that received a great amount of donations and sheltered those in need for an entire week.

Following that success, Savoy was hired as the new community outreach and events director and works to create more events that will bring a positive impact to the youth and the rest of the parish, from live entertainment to youth programs.

"My goal is to try to get events that are family oriented where we can have all families no matter race, religion, music type, gender, whatever. We want them all to come and be able to unite as one as a parish," Savoy said.

As Savoy is already seeing her projects and plans come to life, she says the best part is she's only getting started.
