ST. MARY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A late-night Mardi Gras party at Bee's Cafe and Convenient Store in Four Corners turned into something more after an altercation between two people led to a shooting.

Det. Lt. David Spencer said they received a call of a shooting at approximately 10:20 pm, and dispatch got a call of multiple shots fired in the 1500 block of Cypremort Rd. in the Four Corners area.

When deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrived at Bee's, they found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was transported away by Acadian Ambulance. Just miles down the road, Baldwin police were investigating a shooting off of Main Street. A vehicle showed up to the scene with the apparent second victim from the Bee's shooting in the back seat needing immediate attention.

"I guess they was on their way to take him to the hospital and just so happened to see our unit on main street," Baldwin Chief Anthony Gibson said. "They stopped and saying a person was shot, you know, at a club in Four Corners."

News 10 asked Spencer about the possibility if these shootings were related or were a product of a random coincidence. He said everything is on the table for the investigation.

"I'm sure that is part of the investigation, but nothing as of right now," Spencer said.

Spencer said everything is still under investigation. News 10 will provide an update once more becomes available.
