The recent indictment of Ryan Robicheaux on charges of negligent homicide has dredged up some painful memories among the family of the victim, 42-year-old Camille Angelle.

BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) -- The recent indictment of Ryan Robicheaux on charges of negligent homicide has dredged up some painful memories among the family of the victim, 42-year-old Camille Angelle.

Angelle was found dead in a ditch on South Poydras Street in Breaux Bridge after Robicheaux allegedly hit her with his SUV as she walking along the road.

Camille's daughter, Cambre Thibodeaux, said remembering her mother in a bright light is how she copes with her passing away.

"I actually moved into her bedroom, and in a way I think it also helped me feel closer to her," Thibodeaux said. "You don't understand until you're in that position...you just never know.

"Right after I stopped going to school...I stopped going to work...I moved back home."

After Angelle's death, Thibodeaux and her family received lots of support from others online, some even putting posters in their yards saying #JusticeforCamille. Thibodeaux said her reaction to all of the love that her family continues to receive is "breathtaking."

"It's still something I don't think I'll ever understand, but that I'm fortunate for," she said "That people will voice their opinions and show up when you need them to show up, even if it's just kind words, it helps."

Thibodeaux says while she misses her mother, having conversations with her family about her makes it feel like she is still here.

"At the end of the day, I don't want my Mom to be remembered by the way she passed, but by who she truly was," she said.

Ryan Robicheaux faces up to five years in prison and a fine of $5,000 if convicted.
