Indictments announced in Iberia Parish murder investigations
NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) -- The Grand Jury met in Iberia and St. Martin Parish and returned the following indictments:
Steven Vital, 29, of New Iberia:
- Second-degree murder in connection with the death of Jermaine Riles
- Felon in possession of a firearm
Officials said Vital's bond is set to a total of $1,125,000 for both charges.
Ahmad Williams, 16, of New Iberia:
- Second-degree murder in connection with the death of Rylon Daniels
Officials said Williams is currently detained in a juvenile facility.
Marklin Reaux, 36, of New Iberia:
- First-degree murder in connection with the death of John Berard
- Possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance
- Theft of a motor vehicle ($1,000 - $5,000)
Officials said Reaux's bond is set to a total of $1,030,000.
Reginald Peters, 26, of New Iberia:
- Second-degree murder in connection with the death of Denarius Joseph
- Felon in possession of a firearm (2 counts)
Officials said Peters' bond is set to a total of $1,030,000.
Anikkera Johnson, 32, of St. Martinville:
- Principal to second-degree murder in connection with the death of Denarius
Joseph
Officials said Johnson's bond is set to $1,000,000.
Malik Alexander, 19, of Breaux Bridge:
- Second-degree murder in connection with the death of Andre Arceneaux
Officials said Alexander's bond is set to $1,000,000.
Michael Zachary, 19, of Zachary:
- Second-degree murder in connection with the death of Javeuin Williams
- Possession or dealing In unregistered or illegally transferred weapons
Officials said Zachary's bond is set to a total of 1,125,000.
