Vermilion Parish mourns the loss of former sheriff's deputy
VERMILION PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- The community mourns the loss of a retired Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s deputy, Charles Levine.
Levine died in a two vehicle crash on LA. 338 near Bonvillian Road that occurred earlier this morning.
In Sheriff Eddie Langlinais's Facebook Post, he shared how the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office is deeply sadden by this tragedy and acknowledged Levine's hard work and dedication to the force.
"Charles served Vermilion Parish with honor, dedication, and integrity." Langlinais said. "His commitment to upholding the law and protecting others left a lasting impact on Vermilion Parish. Beyond his professional commitments, Charles had positive interactions with every person he encountered, always greeting people with a smile, both on and off the job."
The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office said they extend their condolences to the Levine family and friends and honor Levine's commitment and service.
Details on Levine's funeral arrangements have not been announced. We will update as more information is released.
