Summer sizzle continues with little change ahead
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - Hot and humid conditions continue today with plentiful sunshine and just a few clouds. Temperatures warm quickly into the mid 90s across the area. A shower or two will be possible later in the afternoon and evening hours, though most areas will remain rain-free.
The tropics are quiet for the time being, though a tropical wave off the African coast has a medium chance of development over the next week. We have plenty of time to monitor it and there are no immediate tropical threats.
Locally, our forecast remains hot and humid with temperatures jumping into the mid 90s each afternoon through the end of next week. An isolated shower is possible each afternoon, but rain chances remain low through midweek. A better rain chance comes towards the end of next week.
