Lake Charles man charged with rape of girl under 13

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A Lake Charles man was arrested over the weekend and charged with raping a young girl, authorities said.
Elvin Meza, 29, of Lake Charles, is charged with first degree rape and sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched around midnight Saturday to a residence in Lake Charles after a report of "suspicious circumstances."
Detectives said Meza had inappropriate sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13, and that the sexual abuse also happened on several other occasions.
Meza was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on $2.25 million bond.
