LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- An intense storm that swept through Acadiana this afternoon caused a tree to fall on a woman's house in Lafayette.
The resident of the home on Pearl Street, Diane Landry, said the fallen tree caused her and her son to be trapped inside the home until a nearby neighbor was able to come and help.
She went on to say that her youngest son was unable to leave out the house until fire officials arrived because of fallen electrical wire.
The home sustained severe damage, but no injuries were reported in the incident.
