Scott man charged with attempted murder in connection with Lafayette stabbing
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A Scott man has been accused of attempted murder in connection with an alleged stabbing in Lafayette, authorities said.
Michael Self, 46, of Scott is charged with one count of attempted first degree murder.
Lafayette Police said officers responded at approximately 8:18 p.m. Sept. 6 to a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of E. Kaliste Saloom Road. Police found the victim with an apparent stab wound to the neck.
Investigators said Self and the unidentified victim were in a fight, when Self allegedly stabbed the victim. The victim was taken to a local hospital. Their condition was not released.
Self was arrested by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office on Sunday. He is being held in the Lafayette Parish jail on $300,000 bond.
