Crash claims life of Church Point man in Carencro
CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) – A pedestrian crash is Carencro has claimed the life of a Church Point man.
Around 5 a.m. this morning, Louisiana State Police began investigating a fatality crash involving a pedestrian on the I-49 South Frontage Road near its intersection with Froeba Road.
Officials said the crash claimed the life of Nathan Guidry, 33, of Church Point.
Officials said the investigation revealed that Guidry was walking on the I-49 South Frontage Road while wearing dark clothing. At the same time, a vehicle was traveling south on I-49 South Frontage Road and struck Guidry.
Authorities said Guidry sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver was properly restrained and uninjured.
The driver of the vehicle was not suspected of being impaired and provided a voluntary breath sample, which showed no alcohol detected. This crash remains under investigation.
