Dusty Guidry gets 4 years in Lafayette DA's office bribery scheme
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- One of the conspirators in the Gary Haynes bribery scheme has been sentenced for his participation.
Dusty Guidry, former contract worker in the District Attorney`s Office in Lafayette who pleaded guilty to federal bribery and conspiracy charges, was sentenced to 48 months.
Guidry pleaded guilty in 2023 to two counts of conspiracy to commit bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds and one count of bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds. He admitted accepting over $800,000 in kickbacks from vendors who provided pretrial diversion program services.
Haynes was convicted Sept. 18 of conspiring with Guidry, Leonard Franques and others to solicit bribes and kickbacks while Haynes was an assistant district attorney at the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
