Beautiful weather continuing Saturday
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - High pressure is bringing beautiful conditions to Acadiana with comfy cool mornings and pleasant afternoons. Temperatures today will reach near 80 by lunchtime and the mid 80s this afternoon. Sunshine will fill the sky with only one or two clouds later in the day. For Festivals Acadiens et Creoles, the weather couldn't be better! Go out and pass a good time! Tonight, under clear skies and with dry air, temperatures will settle in the 50s and 60s once again.
In the tropics, Tropical Storm Jerry is moving northward in the central Atlantic. Jerry will not see much change in strength through the weekend, but it will begin to weaken by next week before becoming a non-tropical low pressure. It will not impact any land areas. Elsewhere, a tropical wave will move westward off the African coast. It has a low chance of development as it heads across the Atlantic over the next week.
Locally, we will see beautiful weather continuing through the next week. Temperatures will stick in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Morning lows will gradually rise through the 60s into the middle of next week, leading to a return of summer muggy air. Rain chances are not expected over the next week.
