Sunny skies and dry conditions Sunday
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - An early morning cold front has pushed through Acadiana, clearing the area of any rain and ushering in drier conditions. Sunshine will fill the sky through the day as temperatures reach the lower 80s in the afternoon. Winds will be pretty gusty throughout the day, at times gusting over 20 miles per hour. Tonight, skies remain clear as temperatures settle in the 40s and 50s.
In the tropics, we are monitoring a tropical wave that has a very good chance at becoming a tropical cyclone next week in the Caribbean. Models indicate it will hang in the Caribbean for a while before eventually being picked up by a front.
Our local weather will see fairly quiet weather through the next week. We will see a low rain chance return Tuesday ahead of a weak cold front that will help cement the nice weather through the end of the week with mornings in the 50s and afternoons in the 80s. Our next best rain chance comes next Saturday with another front.
