Chilly weather expected overnight
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - Drier weather moving in will lead to chilly temperatures overnight. Skies will remain clear as we see 50s for lows across Acadiana. North of I-10, a few areas may briefly drop into the upper 40s. A light jacket will be needed to start the day Monday.
Monday itself will see sun-filled skies and comfortable conditions. Temperatures warm quickly through the 70s and into the 80s during the afternoon. A nice breeze will make it feel even more comfortable.
In the tropics, a tropical wave is moving into the Caribbean where it will hang out for a few days. Development of the system is not expected until after midweek. Where it goes from there is still up for debate, but with frequent frontal passages it is becoming increasingly difficult for any tropical trouble to affect Acadiana.
Locally, we will see another cool and pleasant night Monday before some humidity creeps back into the picture Tuesday. A front will push through the area Tuesday afternoon bringing a few showers to the area. Afterwards, dry conditions return to Acadiana until next weekend. Saturday, a stronger front will move through bringing scattered storm chances. A few storms could be strong or severe, so stay tuned for further updates this week.
