JEFF DAVIS PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A man has been sentenced to over 20 years at hard labor for several charges involving narcotics distribution.

Robert Ray Moore was sentenced to 27 years at hard labor on Oct. 15, in Jefferson Davis Parish, for nine felony charges related to drug distribution and resisting arrest.

Moore pled guilty to all charges on July 14, after all formal plea offers had been withdrawn by the District Attorney's Office. The charges included possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, amphetamine, clonazepam and alprazolam.

District Attorney Lauren Heinen announced the sentencing, which was presided over by Judge Steve Gunnell.

Moore's sentence includes 20 years for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and another 20 years for fentanyl, with the first 7 years without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. These counts are to run concurrently. Additional charges for cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, amphetamine, clonazepam and alprazolam each resulted in 5-year sentences, also running concurrently. However, these are consecutive to the methamphetamine and fentanyl charges.

Moore also received a two-year sentence for resisting an officer with force or violence, injuring a Detective of the Jennings Police Department. This sentence is to run consecutively with all other counts.

Officials said this marks Moore's fifth felony conviction in Jefferson Davis Parish, with all previous convictions being narcotics related.
