Monroe man arrested in connection to insurance fraud and crash scams
MONROE, La. (KLFY) -- A Monroe man has been arrested on 49 counts, in connection to insurance fraud schemes involving staged crashes.
Adrian Sampson, 21, of Monroe was arrested for 16 counts of insurance fraud, 16 counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, 16 counts of staging a motor vehicle collision and one count of racketeering.
Louisiana State Police received complaints alleging that Sampson committed insurance fraud in February 2025. As the investigation progressed, officials said they learned Sampson was involved in multiple crashes from May 2024-September 2025.
Officials said Sampson had planned, staged and orchestrated crashes to file fraudulent insurance claims for personal gain. Authorities said Sampson potentially gained approximately $156,000 from the victims of his fraudulent claims.
On Friday, Oct. 24, Sampson was taken into custody in Bossier City on a warrant for his arrest. He is currently being held in a Bossier City jail.
The investigation remains ongoing. There was no information released regarding Sampson's bond.
