C'est Bon seasoning fest begins in Carencro with food and fun
CARENCRO, LA. (KLFY) -- The 2nd annual C'est Bon Seasoning Fest kicked off on Friday where it celebrates with food, music, amusement park rides and plenty of seasoning to taste-test.
The festival's Ambassador Angelica David explained how the festival is located on the grounds of Pelican Park in Carencro where it offers plenty of family fun and great food.
"Attendees can come in and purchase like cucumbers or French fries and go around and taste each of the vendor's seasonings. They can even they get a token, and they can choose which they like best for a People's Choice award for the seasoning vendors," David stated.
There will be over 50 vendors. There's live entertainment that includes Wayne Toups, Dustin Sonnier and Lil Nate and the Zydeco Big Timers. The Miss Carencro C'est Bon Seasoning Fest Queen Julianne Landry said how she loves how the festival gives opportunity to bring people together through food and culture.
"I get to walk around with my crown and taste all kinds of foods and meet new people," Landry said.
David emphasized the impact the festival bring to the local economy of Carencro with visitors funding local businesses.
"The money that's put into our festival is giving back to the city of Carencro." David said. "So it doesn't go to, you know, something that's not worthy. It's a worthy cause. And it's a beautiful place for people to, you know, see all the love that Carencro, you know, spreads and just see the spice of life we have to offer."
