Iberia Parish Library hosts Acadiana artists Art Gallery
IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- There is an art gallery set up at the Iberia Parish Library main branch located on E. Main Street. The gallery features the work of Acadiana artists, and the theme is "As You Like It."
One of the featured artists is Regina Steele, who is a member of the L'Acadian Art Guild. Steels says the guild puts on the art show with the assistance of the Iberia Parish Library.
"Everything from photography to oils, to pastels, you're going to see animals, flowers (and) landscape," Steele said.
Steele also says the Gallery of Art will be on display until Nov. 29, and most of the art pieces are for sale.
"They get to meet the artist if they want to purchase it, which is a good thing, I think," Steele said.
Steele believes that art is inspirational and can resonate differently with each person.
"Somebody might see the picture as being a butterfly, and another person might see it as being an alligator," she said. "It's all in the perspective of that individual. Somebody might look at a landscape and say this is a beautiful landscape; and another person might say this is so subdued, it calms me."
