Arrest made in AT&T copper theft case near Echo-Poland area

Curry Michael Cooper, 39, of Hessemer was arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft and criminal damage for stealing AT&T copper wire in the Echo-Poland area, causing over $30,000 of damage and obtaining an estimated $100,000 in copper.
