Tornado Warning in multiple Kansas counties
TOPEKA (KSNT) - A tornado warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Jefferson County at around 9:50 p.m. near Valley Falls. If you are in the area, take shelter immediately.
A Tornado warning in Jackson county has been lifted as of 9:30 p.m. No Tornado Warnings are currently in effect in northeast Kansas.
At 9:10 p.m. a tornado has been confirmed on the ground near Hoyt heading northeast. This has been confirmed by our 27 News Storm Track Weather Team.
Update: 8:54 p.m. - Two tornado warnings remain in effect for portions of Shawnee County, Jackson County and Wabaunsee County until around 9:15 p.m.
Update: 8:36 p.m. - A tornado has been confirmed on the ground in Rossville. Please take shelter immediately.
Update: 8:32 p.m. - The National Weather Service has issued Tornado Warnings in multiple Kansas counties, including parts of Shawnee County, Pottawatomie County, Jackson County and Wabaunsee County. Please take shelter immediately.
Update: 8:16 p.m. - A dangerous tornado is on the ground in Alma heading northeast.
A confirmed tornado was first issued on the ground in Alta Vista around 7:50 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for Geary, Wabaunsee and Morris Counties at 7:42 p.m.
