TOPEKA (KSNT) - A man involved in a robbery case from 2022 has received his sentence Thursday.
The Shawnee County District Attorney's Office announced in a press release that London D. Pike, 21, is sentenced to 100 months, or a little more than eight years, in prison. This is due to the following charges:
- Aggravated robbery; dangerous weapon and/or bodily harm
- Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer
- Theft; $1,500 to $25,000
- Violation of offender registration act-change of address
Shawnee County DA's Office spokeswoman Katie Garceran says deputies were called on July 16, 2022 to the 11300 block of SW 29th Street on a report of a robbery. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a woman in her underwear near the site where the robbery was reported.
The victim told law enforcement she met a man, later identified as Pike, at a party in Topeka. Pike asked her for a ride to a family member's home. During this trip, Pike pulled out a gun and held it to the victim's head.
Garceran says Pike hit the victim with his gun before taking her 2017 Chevy Malibu and other personal belongings. Pike was later taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Kansas Fugitive Apprehension Task Force.
