Patrick Mahomes looking to silence critics: 'I've had to sit back and listen to people talk'
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It's safe to say the Super Bowl left a sour taste in Patrick Mahomes mouth and he's insistent on avenging the loss.
The three-time Super Bowl MVP appeared on the "Up and Adams" show on Monday with FanDuel TV's Kay Adams.
Many pundits have argued that the Kansas City Chiefs may be on the decline after the Philadelphia Eagles handily beat them in February.
Well, Mahomes seems to have heard the noise and is dead set on silencing the naysayers.
"I'm honestly just ready to play football again. Whenever you lose, you kind of have this taste in your mouth and you want to go out there and revenge that," Mahomes said.
"I feel like I've had to sit back and just listen to people talk and talk. Lets just play football and handle it all out there. I don't really want to talk about it, I just want to go out and show who we are as the Kansas City Chiefs."
Mahomes comes into the season with arguably the deepest receiving core of his career, headlined by Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown. Pair that with a hyper-focused Travis Kelce, and Mahomes could be in prime position to win his third MVP.
The Chiefs start two training camp in just two weeks on July 22 at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.
The preseason begins on Aug. 9 on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. They'll kickoff the regular season in São Paulo, Brazil, against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sep. 5.
