Emporia State University to have free GA tickets for the 2025-26 season
EMPORIA (KSNT) - Emporia State University announced that as a part of its first 'ESU Year of Celebration,' it will have free general admission to all of its athletic events for the 2025-26 season.
In an effort to give back to the community, Co-Interim Athletic Director Steve Rodecap told 27 Sports, "We are really excited about this and the opportunity it provides to our community, our students, and just a way to give back."
This idea came to mind when Rodecap wanted to find an idea for athletics to be a vehicle in the university's 'Year of Celebration.'
ESU is encouraging fans to bring someone new to a sporting event who has never experienced a Hornets' gameday.
"This was just an opportunity, and we see it as that, as a strategic investment back into our community," Rodecap said. "It's great, you know, we can have groups of kids come in and not have to worry about the impact of costs."
The free general admission is just for this year, but Rodecap said he's hoping this will drive a lot of support now and in the future of Emporia State Athletics.
"Our community of Emporia does a lot for us," Rodecap said. "Lyon County does a lot for us, and it's our way to give back."
Reserved seats with chairbacks and VIP packages will still be available for purchase.
