EMPORIA (KSNT) - A man has pleaded guilty to killing two Emporia women in Colorado.
Philip Lieurance, of Emporia, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder on Wednesday, Aug. 7 as part of a plea deal for the deaths of two women in Colorado. He is expected to serve a 45-year prison sentence.
Lieurance admitted to killing Linda Estrada and Amy Ford, whose bodies were discovered in rural Colorado nearly two years ago. Estrada had been reported missing by a family member. Both women were found dead 10 days later.
Emporia police used cellular phone technology and security videos to track the women’s movements through Colorado, leading investigators to focus their efforts on eastern Colorado and western Kansas.
