Summer-like heat this weekend
What We’re Tracking
- Summer-like Weekend
- Hot and Dry
- Storms Return Sunday
Today was the first time Topeka hit the 90s since August 19th, 24 days ago! That unusually cool stretch of late-summer weather has come to an end. Tonight, temperatures drop into the upper 60s, with a few spots holding in the low 70s, making for a mild night.
As we go throughout the weekend, the summer-like trend continues with highs in the lower 90s on Saturday and then slightly cooling off into the upper 80s on Sunday. Dew points rise throughout the weekend but will stay manageable in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
Ending out the weekend, showers and storms return during the afternoon and evening on Sunday. The shower and storm activity will move east to west throughout the back half of the day into the overnight period. Warmer temperatures continue to begin the new week with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
