K-State drops to 1-3 on the season in road loss to Arizona
TUCSON, Ariz. (KSNT) - Kansas State drops its second game in a row, falling to Arizona on the road 23-17.
K-State struck first in the first quarter as kicker Luis Rodriguez drilled a 51-yarder.
Arizona responded with a 15-yard touchdown rush from Noah Fifita in the quarter.
After a field goal in the second, Fifita grabbed his second rushing score as Arizona led 17-3 at the half.
K-State came out swinging in the second half. Jayce Brown had a 75-yard touchdown run 13 seconds into the half.
Avery Johnson would follow up with a rushing score from a yard out to tie the game at 17.
Arizona would hit two more field goals in the third and fourth to get the 23-17 win.
Avery Johnson finished the game 13-29 for 88 yards.
Dylan Edwards returned for K-State but only managed four rushing attempts for 13 yards.
The contest was a non-conference game, as the game was scheduled prior to Arizona joining the Big 12.
K-State will have a bye week before opening Big 12 Play with UCF on Sept. 27.
