Heat continues this weekend as storms return later on Sunday

Yesterday was the first time Topeka hit the 90s since August 19th, 25 days ago! That unusually cool stretch of late-summer weather has come to an end as highs today expected to return to the lower to middle 90s. A slight breeze out of the south will keep the somewhat humid feel to the air throughout the day today.

As we go throughout this weekend, the summer-like trend continues, but we begin to slightly cool off into the upper 80s on Sunday. Dew points rise throughout into the upper 60s to lower 70s this weekend giving just a little bit a humid to the air.

Ending out the weekend, showers and storms return during the afternoon and evening on Sunday. The shower and storm activity will move east to west throughout the back half of the day into the overnight period. Warmer temperatures continue to begin the new week with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
