Topeka woman seriously injured in Douglas Co. semi crash
DOUGLAS COUNTY (KSNT) - A 51-year-old Topeka woman was seriously injured in a Douglas County crash on Tuesday.
Around 11 a.m., a 55-year-old man was driving a Peterbilt semi-truck and was at the intersection of a stop light. The 51-year-old woman failed to stop at the stop light and hit the semi-truck. The 51-year-old woman was seriously injured in the crash, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP).
Both drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The 51-year-old had suspected minor injuries. The KHP reported that the 55-year-old woman wasn't wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
