Historic Gulfer Mansion in Emporia opens its doors

EMPORIA (KSNT) - Emporia's Gulfer Mansion opened its doors on Friday. The building has been around since 1917.

The new owners of the mansion, Ben and Deborah Kohl, admired the mansion since their college days at Emporia State University.

They have been staying there as guests for over 10 years, until they bought it earlier this month.  

"When Deborah and I were dating as students at Emporia State University, we would go on walks, and we would pass by the Gufler Mansion, and Deborah would look up and say I want to live there, I want to be there, I love that place," Ben Kohl said.
