One person in custody after aggravated arson attempt in Topeka
TOPEKA (KSNT) - One person is in custody after an attempted aggravated arson in Topeka.
At approximately 2:06 p.m., officers with the Topeka Police Department responded to the 1000 block of NE Wabash on reports of an individual pouring gasoline in an apartment.
When the officers arrived, they evacuated the building and then entered it. No injuries were reported and a fire was not started.
According to a press release from TPD, an individual was then taken into custody for attempted aggravated arson, aggravated assault and criminal threat.
The incident is currently under investigation, and there is no threat to the public at this time.
