Fall weather is bringing people to Shively Farms
BERRYTON (KSNT) With the weather finally starting to feel like fall, Shively Farms is seeing a lot of business
This is the sixth year the farm has incorporated a pumpkin patch, and the fourth year with activities.
A few additions this year are a sand pit, farmer shuffleboard and the grain truck slide.
Shively Farms owner, Jay Shively, says this year's crop of pumpkins is looking great, compared to last year's, which took a beating from the overwhelming August heat.
"It was really tough last year for the corn, growing season we had a lot of rain in June, which we typically don't get, and the yield wasn't very good last year," Shively said. "But this year, with all the rain in August and not the unseasonably hot in August, we had a really good crop of pumpkins, so this year is looking really great."
This Friday and Saturday, Shively Farms will have a live band and a haunted corn maze from 6 to 9 p.m.
