Chiefs rookie DT Omarr Norman-Lott out for season with torn ACL

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Chiefs defensive line took a major hit after an impressive performance on Sunday.

Rookie DT Omar Norman-Lott was ruled out for the remainder of the season of tearing his ACL in a shutout win over the Las Vegas Raiders, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported on Monday.

The injury occurred with just over two minutes left in the third quarter with the Chiefs up 31-0 after Raiders LT Stone Forsythe landed on Norman-Lott while he was on the ground. He grabbed his knee in agony before was helped off the field by Patrick Mahomes and Nohl Williams.

Following the game, Andy Reid said Norman-Lott would need an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.

The Chiefs selected Norman-Lott in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He' shown lots of promise early in the season.

He finished his 2025 campaign with five tackles and one sack, proving to be one of the Chiefs best pass rushers. He now shifts his focus to getting healthy for 2026.

As for the Chiefs, there has been rumors of them acquiring another pass rusher before the Nov.4 trade deadline. Norman-Lott's injury could speed up that process.

They face the Commanders next week on Monday Night Football.
