Topeka movie theater shutting down soon, what to know

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A local movie theater has announced it will be closing in a few days, leaving only one place left to watch new films on big screens in Topeka.

Regal West Ridge 8 reports in a social media post that it will be shutting down on Thursday, Oct. 23. This will be the final day of business for the movie theater, leaving only one other movie theater in operation in the Capital City.

Regal West Ridge 8 can be found at 1727 SW Wanamaker Rd in Topeka near West Ridge Mall. The business has not given a stated purpose for the reason behind the imminent closure. We have reached out to the business and its ownership multiple times regarding why it is closing.

The Capital City has one other large movie theater: the B&B Theatres at 2829 SW Fairlawn Rd. It opened its doors to the public in October 2019.
