LAWRENCE (KSNT)- 57 minutes of domination.

Those were the words of K-State head coach Chris Klieman after he saw his Wildcats beat Kansas 42-17 on the road to extend its win streak to 17 over the Jayhawks.

K-State came came away with a narrow 29-27 victory a season ago, but a different story Saturday afternoon.

Avery Johnson was 11-17 for 231 yards and two scores while rushing for 19 yards and two more on the ground.

Joe Jackson had 77 rushing yards leading both teams on the day.

Jalon Daniels was held to 129 yards passing while rushing for 84 yards with a score on the ground. Daniels threw an interception.

The Wildcats received the ball to start but fumbled on the opening kickoff, leading to a Jalon Daniels rushing score to open the scoring less than three minutes into the contest.

K-State responded the following possession with a seven play 82-yard drive capped off with an Avery Johnson rushing score from two yards out.

The game was off to a quick start and it didn't stop in the first. On the Jayhawks next drive, KU would be forced to punt and the Wildcats would scoop and score off a muffed kick to lead 14-7.

K-State would extend its lead Avery Johnson would find Jaron Tibbs for a 27-yard score to lead 21-7 after a quarter.

After a quiet second quarter, the Jayhawks would cut the deficit to one score as Daniel Hishaw Jr. would run it in from three yards out.

Devon Rice opened the scoring in the third quarter with a one-yard score for K-State followed by KU's Laith Marjan nailing a 47-yard field goal.

Before the end of the third, Johnson would find Jayce Brown for a big 78-yard score to extend its lead 35-17 heading into the fourth. Brown finished with a team-high four catches for 160 yards.

The Wildcats would nail the dagger in the fourth quarter as Johnson found the endzone on a three-yard rush to finish the game.

"I don't think we fully ever got into rhythm," Kansas head coach Lance Leipold said. "I think some of the early pressures probably put Jalon in a spot to hurry things. It just never looked in sync whatsoever as we have been before even when we had guys open."

K-State will host Texas Tech next weekend in a game that could propel the Wildcats in the conference hunt.

The Jayhawks will stay in the Booth and take on Oklahoma State Nov. 1 for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
