Stumpy's Smoked Cheese ready to open two new locations for the holidays in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A local cheese and snack shop in north Topeka is expanding its presence in the Capital City with the opening of two additional spots next month.

Stacy Kiss, owner of Stumpy's Smoked Cheese in Topeka, said her business will be opening two new temporary stores in the city just in time for the holiday season this year. The new locations will give people across the Capital City a chance to try out cheese samples and pick up some gift baskets for loved ones, friends or themselves.

The new Stumpy's locations can be found inside West Ridge Mall and Fairlawn Plaza Mall. Kiss said the store inside Fairlawn Plaza is set to open at noon on Saturday, Nov. 1 across from Potwin Pottery and will offer customers lots of different ways to add to their holiday experiences with smoked cheeses. Meanwhile, the spot inside West Ridge Mall will be partnering with Jock's Nitch at the former Victoria's Secret area.

"The West Ridge Mall location will be the same concept," Kiss said. "It will be a lot of Kansas products; you can walk in, get your basket made and grab your collegiate apparel."

Kiss said the new Stumpy's spot inside West Ridge is set to open on Nov. 8. While the hours haven't been finalized for that location yet, she said the Stumpy's at Fairlawn Plaza will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

"We're excited to bring Stumpy's products to the south side of town because with the construction and everything its hard for people to make it up north," Kiss said.

Both locations are temporary and will close at the end of the year once the holiday season comes to an end. People can still visit Stumpy's Smoked Cheese's primary location at 1802 NW Topeka Blvd. or visit its website by clicking here to find what they need.
