Manhattan star JJ Dunnigan decommits from KU football
TOPEKA (KSNT)- Manhattan High School football star James (JJ) Dunnigan Jr. has decommited from the Kansas Jayhawks.
Dunnigan is a four-star prospect and had been committed since Jan. 2 and is the No. 2 overall player in the state of Kansas playing both as a defensive back and a wide receiver.
"After much prayer and thoughtful conversations with my family, I've decided to decommit from the University of Kansas," Dunnigan posted to social media X (formerly known as Twitter). "I'm truly grateful for everything the coaches and staff have done for me and for the way they've treated me throughout this process. This was not an easy decision, but I believe it's the best one for me and my future."
Dunnigan has helped Manhattan to a 6-2 record this season and will host Garden City in the first round of the 6A playoffs on Friday.
He helped the Indiana to a 6A State Runner-Up finish in 2024.
Before committing to the Jayhawks, K-State, Nebraska, and Stanford were the other schools in his top four options.
