Early voting numbers for the KS General Election

0

TOPEKA (KSNT) - According to the Shawnee County election office, as of 5 p.m. Nov 3rd , 2,481 people voted in advance of the election, and 1,736 mail ballots were returned.

People across the state are voting on their local mayors, city council seats and school board seats. 27 News asked voters what's bringing them out to the polls.

"I want affordable health care for everybody," said Vyn Skinner, a Topekan. "I am concerned about inflation which I think inflates the corporate greed. If you can't pay your rent it doesn't matter if you're republican or democrat. It affects us all."

"As a former teacher, I'm very concerned about the curriculum that's not being used in the United States," said Leanne Chism, a Topekan. "I hope that they really consider the math issue because currently China has more gifted and talented students than we have students in the United States."

New state law requires that all mail ballots be returned to the election office or polling place by 7 p.m. Nov 4th. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 4th.
