Kansas City Royals ask for fan feedback on potential new ballpark
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals are asking fans for feedback on the club's next home, the team, gameday experience and more.
The Royals said the goal is to optimize fans' experiences in and out of the ballpark.
The survey includes potential sites for a new ballpark and surrounding development downtown/near downtown, Clay County/North Kansas City, and Johnson County/Overland Park, the Royals said.
"We are constantly engaging with and listening to our fans," Royals chairman and CEO John Sherman said.
"Their feedback is a crucial part of how we present our games in person or through television and other media. Their voices will also play an important and meaningful role as we determine where we play games for the next 50 years. We're grateful for their support and help."
Democratic Missouri State Senator Maggie Nurrenbern said there have been conversations with the Royals about bringing a ballpark to North Kansas City.
In May, the Royals announced an affiliate of theirs bought the mortgage on the former Sprint campus, now known as Aspiria near Overland Park’s intersection of 119th and Nall.
The Royals haven't decided whether they want to stay on the Missouri side when their lease is up at Kauffman Stadium after the 2030 Major League Baseball (MLB) season.
