Topeka City Council Nov. 4 election results

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Nov. 4 General Election results are in - here's a list of the winners for the four Topeka City Council seats.

DISTRICT 1:

This seat has been held by Councilwoman Karen Hiller since 2009. Her seat was challenged by William Naeger, who currently chairs Topeka's City Planning Commission. Tonight, Hiller defeated Naeger in the race with 691 votes.

DISTRICT 3:

This seat is currently held by Councilwoman Sylvia Ortiz who has occupied it since 2005. She was challenged by newcomer Daisy Karimi. Tonight, Ortiz defeated Karimi in the race with 482 votes.

DISTRICT 7:

This seat was held by councilman Neil Dobler who is not seeking re-election. The race was between 23-year state employee Michelle Bradberry and retired Marine Earl McIntosh. Both are newcomers to city council elections. Tonight, Bradberry defeated McIntosh in the race with 1,433 votes.

DISTRICT 9:

This seat is currently held by Michelle Hoferer, who was appointed to replace Mike Lesser in 2022. She is running against Chris Deister, a dentist, and Nic Trammell, who also applied for Lesser's vacancy in 2022. Tonight, Hoferer emerged victorious in the race with 1,132 votes.
