Cold end to the weekend ahead of a warmup later this week
What We’re Tracking
- Breezy with some clouds
- Feeling like December
- Quick rebound
Wind chills to begin Sunday morning will be in the mid-to-upper teens. You may notice a very brief period of drizzle/flurries before sunrise, but it will be barely noticeable as all of northeastern Kansas will not be seeing any meaningful precipitation due to the overall dry conditions. Afternoon highs will struggle to reach the upper 30s, giving us our first real taste of winter. North winds will continue to gust near 25 mph. This will be the coldest air of the season yet so far.
By Monday morning, temperatures will dip into the upper teens, expect a hard freeze. Be sure to disconnect garden hoses and protect any sensitive plants. And don't forget to bundle the kids up as they head to school!
Thankfully, the cold won’t last long, with highs rebounding into the middle 60s by midweek. The mild weather will hold through the rest of the work week. By next weekend, we are looking at another round of 70s.
