MANHATTAN (KSNT) - Manhattan High School football star James (JJ) Dunnigan Jr. has committed to play for the Miami Hurricanes.

Dunnigan announced the decision on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday evening.

"All glory to God for blessing me with the strength and guidance to reach this point. Thank you to my family for sticking by my side, and thank you to the coaches that believed in me. With that being said, I’m committed to the University of Miami," Dunnigan said on social media.

He was previously committed to the Kansas Jayhawks until he decommitted on Oct. 27. He originally committed to the Jayhawks on Jan 2.

Dunnigan is a four-star prospect and is the No. 2 overall player in the state of Kansas, playing both as a defensive back and a wide receiver.

He has helped Manhattan to an 8-2 record as the Indians will take on Maize Friday night in the 6A Quarterfinals.
