Austin Humane Society's 10th annual kitten shower returns Saturday
The Austin Humane Society will host its 10th annual kitten shower event on Saturday amid kitten season, where the shelter will welcome hundreds of newborn cats to its care.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Humane Society will host its 10th annual kitten shower event on Saturday amid kitten season, where the shelter will welcome hundreds of newborn cats to its care.
The annual fundraising event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It'll include — of course — kittens and cats in addition to kids' activities, a donation drive, adoption services, local vendors and a bake-off competition, per an AHS release.
The impetus behind the event is to help cover the around-the-clock resources needed by kittens, who require 24/7 care and services. Both shelter staff and foster caregivers will provide for the kittens to help them grow and prep them for future adoptions.
Those interested can attend for free or upgrade and pay for either a bake-off tasting ticket or a V.I.P. (Very Important Purr-son) ticket, which includes a bake-off tasting ticket, a drink ticket and a commemorative gift tote bag.
