WATCH: No. 15 Westlake faces tough road test at No. 6 Humble Atascocita

AUSTIN (KXAN) — No. 15 Westlake is putting on the miles during its non-district schedule, and they'll face perhaps their toughest opponent yet Friday when they go to No. 6 Humble Atascocita. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will stream on KXAN.com and KXAN+ beginning at 6:50 p.m.

The Chaparrals picked up a 66-0 win over San Benito in the Rio Grande Valley last week after dropping their season opener to Prosper 29-22 in Belton. They end the non-district slate at Chaparral Stadium next week against Cibolo Steele, so at least they'll see their own field at least once before District 26-6A play.

However, they're off to the northern outskirts of Houston to take on the Eagles, who have won decisively in their first two weeks. Atascocita opened with a 48-28 win over Houston Lamar on the road, and then hung more than 50 points on Katy in a 52-33 defense-optional game at home.

Last season, the Eagles handed Westlake its first regular-season home loss since 2018, 39-21.

Senior running back Tremayne Hill ran all over Katy, racking up 197 rushing yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns. The Eagles ran for 357 yards against the Tigers.

The Chaps got back on track against the Greyhounds down south, rushing for 291 yards and passing for 268 behind Rees Wise's big night. He completed 10 of 13 passes for 191 yards with a touchdown. Sebastian Henault, the Chaps' human battering ram inside the 5-yard line, scored three touchdowns by simply running through San Benito defenders like a road grader near the goal line.
