Cedar Park resident claims $1M Powerball prize
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- One lucky resident in Cedar Park claimed a $1 million Powerball prize earlier this month, according to the Texas Lottery.
The resident -- who wanted to remain anonymous -- claimed their prize on Sept. 6 at a 7-Eleven, 10207 Lake Creek Parkway, in Austin, per a Texas Lottery news release Monday.
The winning Quick Pick ticket matched the following white ball numbers -- 11-23-44-61-62. However, it did not have the red Powerball No. 17, the release said.
According to the Texas Lottery, "Powerball Grand Prizes start at $20 million and roll until the jackpot is won."
"Players win the Grand Prize by matching five numbers from a field of 69 numbers and one Powerball number from a field of 26 numbers," the release said.
There is also an option to choose the "Power Play" for $1 extra per play, and then players can "multiply their non-Grand Prize winnings by two, three, four, five or 10 times.
"The 10X Power Play multiplier is available for drawings in which the initially advertised annuitized Grand Prize amount is $150 million or less," the Texas Lottery said.
Additionally, there is a "Power Play Match Five" prize that is set at $2,000,000 "regardless of the Power Play number selected."
There are more opportunities to win prizes, as the Powerball drawings are broadcast each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:12 p.m., according to the Texas Lottery.
